CA Community Schools Partnership Program (CCSPP)

Fred L. Williams Elementary School was awarded a California Community Schools Partnership Program grant and will participate as part of Cohort 3 as we plan to launch during the 2024-25 school year and begin implementation in the 2025-26 school year. We invite our Williams educational partners to review our CCSPP Implementation Plan by clicking on the link below:

The California Community Schools Partnership Program (CCSPP) supports Williams School's efforts to partner with community agencies and local government to align community resources to improve student outcomes. These partnerships provide an integrated focus on academics, health and social services, youth and community development, and community engagement.

Community school strategies can be an effective approach to mitigate the academic and social impacts of emergencies that affect local communities, improve school responsiveness to student and family needs, and organize school and community resources to address barriers to learning. Community schools include the Four Pillars, which are aligned and integrated into high-quality, rigorous teaching and learning practices and environments:

  • 1 - Integrated support services;
  • 2 - Family and community engagement;
  • 3 - Collaborative leadership and practices for educators and administrators;
  • 4 - Extended learning time and opportunities.

Community Schools:  A California Definition
A community school is any school serving pre-kindergarten through high school students using a “whole-child” approach, with “an integrated focus on academics, health and social services, youth and community development, and community engagement.” As a school improvement strategy, community school initiatives enable the local educational agency (LEA) and school to work closely with educators, students, and families to understand and address the school community's unique needs, assets, and aspirations. -CA Community Schools Framework
